I think for too long professionals have been talking about how to survive with ADHD (Attention DEFICIT Hyperactivity DISORDER). I say let's start talking about how we THRIVE with ADHD or Powerful Energy ReflectingAmerican College HS330 exam From Every Cell Throughout or PERFECT which is really what we are.
There's a certain perspective that comes with the word survive. It makes me think of horror movies where many characters won't make it through the movie alive and the only goal of the main character is in 90 to 120 minutes still be alive.
Wooaah! No wonder I have a problem with the surviving mentality of ADHD from professionals that have not had to live a day in ADHD world whether it be a bad one or a great one.
Thriving with ADHD is more like an action movie, where all kinds of things are thrown at the main character making them look great (even if it was a mistake). The concept for the main character is to enjoy what they are doing and make it look good.
Now this concept I can work with and that's how I live my life. I don't want to get to my death-bed to say cool I made it alive. I want to say I had the time of my life.
How do you see your ADHD or your child's ADHD? Is it a terrible thing you hope to survive or is it a super power that came without a manual? How you see ADHD will determine how it is treated and therefore how you treat yourself (or your child).
I believe that doctors, psychologists and pediatricians only get to see the negative side of ADHD. I wouldn't think someone would go to the doctor and say 'I think I have ADHD. I mean my hyper focus allows me to block out distractions. I am highly logical and combined with my powerful imagination, I'm unstoppable'.
We go to these professionals American College HS330 exambecause we are having trouble, so all they see are people having trouble with ADHD. You don't go back to them when you've worked it out and say 'Wow this ADHD thing is amazing, I didn't see it at first but slowly I realized that when I was doing something I loved, ADHD enhanced my ability to do it'.
Still when it comes to public opinion, it's the professionals that are influencing how society sees ADHD. This creates stereotypes in society that we all face when people find out we have ADHD.
Okay, I'm not so head in the clouds to know ADHD comes with its challenges but I have also seen first hand the absolute power when ADHD is used in a positive way. It still amazes me that I spent many years hiding from my ADHD diagnosis. I was ashamed of who I am, and that I thought all I had to do was survive.
Life is for the living and ADHD can enhance your experiences if you let it. First and foremost you need to accept that it is part of you. You are inseparable and without ADHD you wouldn't have had the experiences that you have had (both great and bad).
Thriving with ADHD means that you look for the highlights, the experiences in which you shineCA0-001, through which your passion shows then you can see your ADHD as the Super Power it really is and become the action movie hero of your own life.
Have a Super Day!
