Seven Ways to Gain Your First Taste of Independence

Being a young adult who has yet to experience independence can be very frustrating. It can almost feel as if your adult life has yet to begin. So how do you go about getting that first your parental home, paying board and having everything done for you - including your meals, washing and tidying - then the most obvious way to gain independence is to move out. Even if it is with friends or a partner, this could help you to rely on yourself rather than your parents for help.
2. You could even go one stage further than just moving out, by looking to buy your first property. Running your own property will provide you with adult responsibilities and greater freedom to make your own decisions. You'll truly be an adult!
3. If not being able to drive is holding you back from having the independence you crave, why not find a driving school that can teach you? 4. One way to gain a little more independence is to learn to cook for yourself. Being able to prepare your own meals will mean you are sell-sufficient and are not solely reliant on your parents.

You'll have friends to help you, of course, but otherwise you'll be on your own. This will lead to you picking up some important skills, while giving you the freedom to make your own decisions.
6. If you are financially reliant on your parents, it may be time to look for a job (or a better job) to give you greater resource. Being able to buy your own things - from food to clothes - will allow you be more independent. It will also make it easier for you to go where you want, when you want.
